SEBON has been trying out to create a favorable environment to let NRNs investment in the secondary market of Nepal.
The newly formed committee will study on the impact of NRNs representation in secondary market and economy and prepare draft within a couple of months. With this, the Board aims to bring positive change in Nepalese economy with the implementation of these directions.
What impact do you guys think it will have? Here is my view on this from a small investor's perspective.
1) Market will be more easily manipulated.
2) Foreign Investors will have more buying power than the local investors due to currency exchange, they may not afford to invest even a little in NYSE, but afford to buy big in NEPSE. Leaning to point 1 above.
3) They will be less active, so less of the shares will be traded.
4) The prices of the shares will increase drastically.
